How a Cinematic Wedding Video Is Actually Made

A highlight is the film the couple actually shows people. Everything else in the delivery gets watched once; this is the one that goes to the parents, the group chat and, eventually, the anniversary. That is why it is the edit we cut most, and why the hours go where they do.

Most of the work is selection. A wedding day arrives as six to twelve hours of footage and leaves as five minutes, so the editing is mainly deciding what does not survive — and the decision is made against the audio, not the picture. We build the spine from the vows and the speeches first, then hang the day around it. A highlight assembled the other way round, pretty shot after pretty shot, plays as a showreel and stops meaning anything by minute three.

Runtime is the only thing that moves the price, because runtime is the only thing that reliably moves the hours. More footage does not: the extra card gives us more to choose from, not more to cut. What does add time is a day shot across two locations with two teams, and we say so before we start rather than after.

Before You Send the Footage

A shorter highlight falls under the same highlight tier, starting at $495. We treat any highlight from 2 to 19 minutes as one service, so a tight 2-3 minute cut starts at that price. Send us your footage and the length you’re after, and we’ll give you an exact quote.

A 4–9 minute highlight film costs $595. Your final price depends on the length you want, how much footage you send, and any add-ons. Color correction, color grading, licensed music, and project files are all included.

A long highlight in the 10–19 minute range tops out at $650 for a full 19-minute edit. These longer films sit in our highlight tier, and the price scales with the finished length, the volume of footage you send, and any add-ons. Color correction, color grading, licensed music, and project files come with every edit.

Four to nine minutes is what most filmmakers order and what most couples watch to the end. Shorter reads as a teaser; longer starts asking something of the audience.

Color correction and color grading, licensed music, sound cleanup on speeches and vows, titles, and the project file. Nothing on that list is billed separately.

Send everything. Selects made on the shoot day are made tired, and the frame you skipped past is often the one the highlight needs. We work from the full cards.

Yes, and most filmmakers order both. They are cut separately and priced separately, because a teaser is not an excerpt — see teaser pricing.

Unlimited on your first project with us, two rounds after that. The first one is unlimited because you are still teaching us your style, and that is our cost to bear, not yours.
